Large Number of Pilgrims Expected at Great Celebration in Mashhad on Eid al-Ghadir
Hojat-ol-Islam Hossein Shariatinejad, the propagation deputy of the Astan Quds Razavi (the custodianship) of the holy shrine) said a large number of pilgrims and Mashhad residents are expected to attend the celebration.
He said it will start at the Wilayat Hall of the holy mausoleum on Tuesday morning, with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by prominent qari Seyed Javad Hosseini.
Poetry recitation, eulogy recitation and declamation of poems in praise of Imam Ali (AS) will be among different parts of the program, he noted.
Similar events are scheduled to be organized in cities and towns across Iran on the auspicious occasion.
The capital, Tehran, for example, is set to host a vibrant 10-kilometer celebration for Eid al-Ghadir.
The event of Ghadir, or Eid al-Ghadir, which falls on Tuesday, June 25, this year, is celebrated by Shia Muslims around the world every year.
